Who is Joe de Carc?

Joe de Carc’s biography

Joe de Carc was born and lives in Paris, which makes him less Parisian than Parisians.

And when he has had it up to the eyeballs with Paris, he gets some fresh air, especially in more northern regions, where the mist-covered landscapes are steeper. Because he doesn’t like hot weather and he doesn’t like to pile up too many swimming trunks.

During his youth, the internet did not yet rule the world, you had to know how to keep busy: Joe de Carc spent a lot of time drawing. His passions: Crumb, Prince, John Landis, Maupassant, girls and fresh apple juice.

After obtaining his baccalaureate to great applause, he joined the National School of Decorative Arts (École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs), rue d’Ulm.
Soon after, he went into professional life by working for NOVA magazine.

Still and always Parisian, here he is freelancer.

Wearing the cap of Artistic Director, he practices graphic design at all costs. Still and always attracted by music and sound, he also takes care of the Instore music of several houses (Isabel Marant, Diptyque, Chevignon), created a podcast for kids, wrote a novel which will never be published, a comic which will never be published. That’s how it is, that’s life.
In the meantime, Yves St Laurent or Isabel Marant have called on his help as an illustrator, excuse me.

Since 2011 he has been part of the creation studio Bureau Marie Louise, located in Paris, as you might already have guessed.

Glued to his Macintosh, he forgets neither his pencils nor his sketchbooks.

By frequenting the many booksellers in Paris and drawing, he ended up combining these two passions by using the book as a support for his graphic work.

During your wanderings in Paris, you might stumble across one of his drawings stuck on a wall in the city. But that’s not sure either.
